He has successfully led the integration between technology, commercial and organisational requirements to deliver high-level success in business outcomes, and has demonstrated strong skills in business transformation having re-engineered and realigned a number of businesses to a position of market leadership.

Procon Consulting

Over the past 12-years Paul has successfully built Procon Consulting into a multi-discipline, multi-sector business which now operates in collaborative partnership with TMB GROUP Australia.

Procon’s portfolio of engagements includes:

• Skybridge Group - Development of new Renewable Energy focused contracts with major Utilities (e.g. Energy Australia, Origin Energy, ESS Inc.etc.), as well as Engineering consultants (e.g. Arup Engineering) as well as the mobilisaiton of a new 3-year installation contract (True Value Solar) for Solar, batteries, Smart devices, etc.;
• Ausnet Services - Management of the Design and submission of the Victorian Government Grant for $60m N.E. VIC Energy Hub Program (Solar, Batteries, Connections, etc.);
• Donald Cant Watts Corke - Development and delivery of a Change Management and Business Development Training program;
• ESS Inc (USA) - Provision of Business Development, Estimating and Project Management services for the introduction of new Iron Flow battery Technology to the Australian market, with successes with Western Power, Zonzo Winery, UON WA and SA Water;
• Ventia Utility Services - Paul provided multi-disciplinary support in the areas of Field Service (Electricity & Gas) Management Process development, Sales strategy development (Poles & Wires) and Contract Management;
• Tranzcorp Pty Ltd - Project management of 132kV Overhead power line project for Elecranet, Powerlink & Ausnet;
• TechTest Services Pty Ltd - Provision of Contract and Project management and Testing services on the McArthur Windfarm project for Eureka Energy (Division of Energex);
• Synergy (WA) - Provision of Strategic expertise for the development of a 100MW Energy Centre concept and Business Case;
• Northern Land Council - Development of the successful Business Case for a $150m Federal Government Grant for NT remote communities' micro-grid;
• Buddy Ohm - Operated as Principal Sales Consultant for the "Buddy Platform" targeting Facilities Management, Electrical Contractors and Commercial Property Investors and Owners;
• Spotless / Downer - Engaged as Development Manager, Utilities. Development of a Business Development programme to re-position Spotless in the Utilities sector. $35m p/a 10-year contract secured with Western Power.
• Jemena Asset Management - Program Director for the Business Transformation / OneSAP Project. This included the management of a 45-person project group ($2m P&L) delivering the implementation of the $65m Transformation / SAP project. Successfully achieved the 'Go Live' objectives on time and to budget.

In addition to the Procon business, Paul has enjoyed a number of very successful roles including:

Comdain Infrastructure NSW

Paul was engaged by Comdain as the General Manager of Business Development, Strategy and Marketing and was responsible for the management of all business procurement activities including tender management, active BD support to all States of Operation - being instrumental in working with Tom Burns to successfully mobilise the NSW business and identify and engage with multiple new Clients, and undertook the pivotal role in the process for the renewal of major Capital Works and Maintenance programmes in Victoria.

Paul also introduced, developed and implemented additional processes to the business Tender function to improve business reliability, risk management and margin certainty. Development and implementation of a new Full Service Gas Transmission service strategy was also successfully completed and implemented.

Programmed Facility Management

Paul operated as the General Manager - Government & Utilities and was responsible for the ongoing management of existing Contracts, as well as the renewal of a number of key client contracts. This included a 100% record in retaining Contracts equating to revenue of $80m. Paul also secured new contracts in the value of close to $1Bn with the Victorian and Western Australian State Governments.

Citipower / Powercor

Paul was the Executive Manager - Development & Operations leading the NSW and QLD State businesses. This included the management of a team of over 40 resources who maintained and secured contracts with all major power infrastructure providers. 

Agility Management (Alinta Asset Management / Jemena)

As the Executive Manager - Development & Operations Paul led a team of more than 30 which included Estimators and Bid writers, Engineers and Project Managers, and was responsible for the P&L of the business unit, successfully leading his team to deliver the required revenue targets (c.$65m) at increased EBIT. This success was achieved in part through the securing of multiple new projects and Operational contracts in both the Electrical power and Gas markets.

TUSC Utilities & Telecommunications

The role of General Manager NSW  required Paul to not only fulfil the role of Project Director on major projects, but also required the management of the securing of revenue business and exceeding FY targets. Paul achieved this through and exceeded business forecasts and also returned increased EBIT across his 5 years in the role.

Manufacturing and Process Automation Pty Ltd

Paul established this Consulting business which provided services primarily to the Power Industry and successfully delivered projects for 5 years, before being head-hunted to take up his subsequent full time role with TUSC.
